War College pulls in gaming support under $49M contract
The Navy War College has hired Network and Simulation Technologies to support war gaming efforts under a $49 million contract.
A Rhode Island company has been tapped by the Navy to help deliver professional military education and graduate level programs to Navy personnel under what could be a $49 million contract.
Network and Simulation Technologies Inc. of Middletown, R.I., will provide training to officers, enlisted personnel, civilian federal employees, and international senior enlisted leaders and officers in the areas of global maritime security.
The company will support war gaming systems at the Naval War College for its training, education and security operations mission and its basic research mission.
The initial award is worth $9.3 million, but options could raise the value to $49 million. With the options the contract runs through November 2020.
The contract was competitively awarded and the Navy said it received two bids for the work.
