OPM hunts for business system software provider

The Office of Personnel Management is looking for companies that can provide it with a budget management software solution.

OPM plans to implement and integrate a budget management solution with its current core financial system, which is the Consolidated Business Information System (CBIS). The vendor would provide the software and also support for setting up the system.

Currently, OPM has no integrated budget software solution.

From this contract, OPM plans to create analytical practices to help with decision-making, align budgets, costs, and performance information to a single framework, automate repetitive and manual activities, and train employees. In its overall restructuring strategy, the agency plans to have better management of its appropriated and revolving funds, a data collection tool, and a system that interfaces with the CBIS as well as payroll, human resources, and accounting systems.

OPM wants to hear from large and small companies, particularly those in the Small Business Administration’s 8(a) program, to gauge interest and potential solutions.

OPM released a sources sought notice July 1. Responses are due by July 15.
