Fast 50 deadline fast approaching

The deadline for submitting nominations for the 2015 Washington Technology Fast 50 is about two weeks out. The annual rankings track the fastest-growing small businesses in the government market.

The deadline for submitting applications is June 15.

With two weeks to go, we've gotten a strong response, but the Fast 50 is only as good as the companies who apply, so don't hesitate to join the competition.

Any small business in the government market can nominate itself. To be considered, companies need to submit five years of government contracting revenue data, which will be used to calculate their compound annual growth rate. Companies are ranked by their growth rate, not by their overall revenue.

The 2015 Fast 50 will look at revenue growth from 2010 through 2014. The revenue figures submitted will be published as part of our Fast 50 package. For an example, see the 2014 Fast 50.

To be eligible, companies need to be considered a small business according to one of the various government criteria for being a small business. Companies in the 8(a) program, or those that are a service-disabled, veteran-owned company also are eligible. HUBZone or women-owned businesses also qualify. Revenue figures and other information submitted as part of the nomination process will be published on WashingtonTechnology.com as part of our Fast 50 coverage.

Please use the online nomination form. The deadline is June 15. On the nomination form, the field labeled “Revenue from last year” is for 2014, "Revenue from two years ago" is for 2013, and so on, back to "Revenue from 5 years ago," which is for 2010.
