Air Force plans for equipment supply chain system

The Air Force needs support for its supply-chain arrangement of its Battlefield Airmen Management System (BAMS).

BAMS is web-based individual equipment system and service system. The Air Force is looking for a just-in-time supply chain management solution that offers users online ordering, tracking, managing and delivering of equipment for Special Operational Forces.

The equipment management system currently has more than 6,000 active accounts. The portfolio consists of as many as 1,000 manufacturer-specific items.

According to its request for information, the Air Force has not determined the acquisition strategy. It could possibly become a small-business set-aside if enough capable companies show interest.

The Air Force released the RFI and a draft system requirements document May 5. Responses are due by 15.
