The Forest Service needs to update an analysis application that is incompatible with current workstations that use 64-bit Windows 7 and later operating systems.
Despites being unsuited for newer operating systems, the Risk Assessment Mitigation Strategies (RAMS) application is the only interagency application used to analyze the practicality and benefit of wildfire prevention planning. As a result, RAMS cannot be updated because of its software language.
The Forest Service described four tasks in the RFI:
- Develop a new software application
- Develop a user guide for the application
- Link the application with other systems
- Create a mobile application
In a new request for information, the Forest Service wants help assessing its draft scope of work.
The Forest Service released a draft scope of work April 20. Responses are due by May 1.
