Army seeks food management info system support
The Army is planning for a three-year follow-on contract to support the system it uses for ordering and managing food supplies for soldiers around the world.
The Army is planning for a three-year follow-on contract to support its Army Food Management Information System (AFMI).
The contract work would provide functional and technical services, such as software engineering, analytical, and program management, to the Army Communications-Electronic Command Software Engineering Center Enterprise Information Systems Directorate (CECOM SEC-EISD).
The food management system is used for ordering, receipt, inventory, and invoicing of supplies including field rations. It also helps with operating dining facilities, menu planning and recipe management, labor scheduling, cash collection and equipment replacement, according to the Army.
The contractor will conduct software engineering, system administration, testing support, configuration management, user support, quality improvement, and program and project management. More specifically, the company will provide AFMI software system analysis four times a year, and the analysis will be the basis for future system design. It then will conduct software system deployment approximately four times a year.
SAWTST Total Solutions Team, LLC of Peachtree City, Ga., is performing the current contract, which is set to end June 18. The anticipated start date for the new contract is May 29.
Work is done in Fort Lee, Va.
The Army released its draft solicitation April 3. Responses are due by May 4.
