DIA seeks research support to lower IT costs

The Defense Intelligence Agency is collecting information on data services that can help it lower its IT costs.

In a new request for information, DIA is looking for information on research and advisory services that can examine things such as the business value of IT, business process improvement and IT cost optimization.

The DIA’s CIO is looking for a service that can provide independent information about vendor viability, product capability, pricing benchmarks, technology trends, intelligence community experience and proven management practices.

The goal is for DIA decision makers to use this information to lower the cost of procurements and choose products that are the best fit for their requirements.

The CIO also wants to negotiate more favorable terms with vendors, avoid undue technical support costs and reduce risks.

Respondents to the RFI should include information such as how you group technologies your services covers into different categories such as financial, government, etc. as well as types of technologies such as infrastructure, mobile, etc.

Other information includes training and whether peer reviewed articles, conferences, videos and vendor comparisons are offered.

Responses to the RFI are expected by April 6.
