Air Force considers follow-on intel support contract

The Air Force issued a source sought notice March 12 as it plans for a five-year follow-on contract for intelligence information systems support.

The new contract would provide IT support to the Secret Internet Protocol Network (SIPRNet) Enclave for the Air Mobility Command, the Intelligence Directorate and the Air Intelligence Squadron at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois.

Centech Group Inc., holds the current contract. The Air Force awarded Centech the contract in January 2014. The award was for $1.7 million. The contract will expire in 2016. Air Force officials are now planning to hold a full-and-open competition for the new contract.

The Air Force has listed three specific task areas in a draft performance work statement. The first area is uninterrupted, onsite technical helpdesk support, such as installation of intelligence information security (IIS) computers, and enclave infrastructure security.

Second is deploying security IIS equipment support, which includes testing and training of Global Rapid Response Intelligence Package (GRRIP) users.

Thirdly, the contractor would update and maintain web portal upgrades and assist the Air Force in sending out intelligence information from tailored portals and AMC-created Google Earth Keyhole Markup Language and Keyhole Markup Zipped overlays.

The Air Force released its sources sought notice to determine the capabilities of large and small businesses in accomplishing the three areas of work.

Responses are due by April 13.
