VMware vCloud Government Service gets FedRAMP approval

The FedRAMP program provides a standardized approach to security assessment, authorization and continuous monitoring for cloud products and services. The FedRAMP ATO is mandatory for any cloud service provider serving the Federal government, VMware said in a release.
The company will be able to serve the government and defense organizations with its infrastructure-as-a-service hybrid cloud, VMware vCloud Government Service, which is based on technology that all military services as well as the Defense Department use, the company said.
