An industry day is in the works for a Defense Department initiative to improve management of its educational programs for military dependents.
The Department of Defense Education Activity is looking for demonstrations of commercial educational student information systems software, according to a FBO.gov notice.
thThe DOD school system has 76,000 students. Schools are located in 12 countries, Guam and Puerto Rico. Countries include Germany, England, Spain, Portugal, Turkey, Bahrain, South Korea and Japan.
The Education Activity is looking for systems that can manage enrollment, transfers from school to school, special education individual education plans, classroom attendance, creating and running ad hoc reports, and other factors described in the notice.
The demonstrations will stretch over Feb. 11, 12 and 13 at the Mark Center in Alexandria, Va.
