McCabe plans departure from ASI

Kimberly McCabe is stepping down as CEO of ASI Government next month after four years of leading what she called a transformation of the company.

McCabe joined ASI in 2011 and became CEO at the end of that year. The company provides acquisition consulting and professional services to government agencies.

“I was brought onboard to transform ASI into a world-class professional services firm, and during the last four amazing years, we have done just that,” she said in a statement.

Timothy Cooke, currently president of ASI’s consulting division, has been named the new CEO of the company.

“From our top-notch services and solutions to our remarkable workforce, I am eager to embrace the opportunities ahead and help ASI create even more value for our clients, our people and our company,” Cooke said.

McCabe told FCW that she has been talking with the company’s board about a transition for some time. FCW broke the story before company officials announced McCabe’s resignation.

She will remain on the board of ASI but will take some time before deciding what to do next. “For me personally, I don’t really want to look for something else to do while I’m running a company,” she said.

She plans to stay involved with the government contracting community and the Acquisition of Future project she launched while at ASI. The project is framework for collaboration among government and industry to improve how the government buys goods and services.

"We've got almost every agency in government working on it, and starting to do pilots. ... I really believe that acquisition is the most powerful lever that government has,” she told FCW.

Cooke has been with ASI since April 2013 and came to the company after more than 20 years at SRA International.
