GSA’s 18F group considers agile BPA

The General Services Administration’s 18F innovation group is exploring the development of a blanket purchase agreement to buy what it calls agile delivery capabilities.

The group, part of GSA’s Office of Integrated Technology Services, wants information about companies that can provide services such as user-centered design, agile architecture, agile software development, test-driven development, API-first design, and software development and operations, according to a new request for information.

They are looking for responses from companies on GSA Schedule 70 as well as non-GSA schedule holders and other companies with related capabilities.

18F wants companies to describe how they would approach creating a new version of the FBO.gov website. They want to use a hypothetical revamping of FBO.gov to evaluate the companies capabilities, according to the RFI.

Question they want addressed: How would you design, develop, test, deploy and operation a new FBO system? Companies responding to the RFI need to consider the user experience, risks of project failure, how adaptive the architecture can be, and other factors.

18F also wants a listing of all labor categories that would used to accomplish the FBO.gov revamp.

Responses are due Jan. 23.

An industry day is planned for Jan. 27.
