NASA to release draft RFP on eight-year IT IDIQ

NASA plans to recompete its Enterprise Applications Services Technologies (EAST) indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract.

The space agency intends to release a draft solicitation for EAST 2 in mid-December and a final request for proposals in March. The contract will have a two-year base period and one two-year option period and a one-year option period. Officials are also incentivizing companies by including an additional three years of work.

The contract will include maintenance and operation, as well as new development and management of NASA’s enterprise applications, which ensures NASA’s IT investments enable its mission. EAST 2’s work will include work on applications specific to the George C. Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) in Huntsville, Ala., and the migration of center-specific applications at other NASA locations.

In 2010, SAIC was awarded the EAST contract, which was worth a total of $321.2 million. The contract was part of the NASA Information Technology Infrastructure Integration Program also known as I3P and managed by the agency’s Chief Information Officer.
