Lockheed gains a pair of F-35 support contracts

Lockheed Martin has won a pair of contracts worth more than $500 million to support aspects of its F-35 fighter jet.
Lockheed Martin has won a pair of contracts worth more than $500 million to support aspects of its F-35 fighter jet.
The largest contract is for $492 million and is a modification of an existing contract to provide spares, support equipment, hardware and software updates for the planes autonomic logistics information system and supply chain management. The contract also covers simulators and non-recurring engineering services for the low-rate initial production of Lot VII F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter aircraft.
The modification covers planes for the Air Force, Marines Corps, Navy and international partners. Work will take place at locations across the United States with a small amount of work in the United Kingdom.
In the second contract, Lockheed won a $64.3 million modification for modification kits for the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Marines as well as for the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
