Intelsat names new deputy CEO

Intelsat has named current president and chief commercial officer Stephen Spengler to the role of deputy chief executive officer.

Current Intelsat CEO and chairman David McGlade is transitioning to the role of executive chairman in April 2015. At that time, Spengler will assume the role of CEO.

Spengler joined the company in 2003 and has since held a number of positions including executive vice president, Sales, Marketing and Strategy.  He will bring nearly 30 years of experience in the satellite and telecommunications industry to bear as CEO, the company said in a release.
