BAE invests in U.S. national security through latest acquisition

BAE Systems has acquired Eclipse Electronic Systems in a move that brings BAE ISR products and services and customers in the U.S. defense and intelligence communities.

The acquisition of Texas-based Eclipse aligns with BAE’s strategy to invest in advanced technologies critical to U.S. national security and defense needs, said BAE COO Tom Arseneault.

 “By combining Eclipse Electronic Systems’ products with BAE Systems’ existing ISR capabilities, we will be able to support our customers’ requirements for reliable, smaller, lighter, and more power-efficient sensor solutions to capture and harness actionable intelligence,” Arseneault said in a release.

The acquisition is expected to close during the first quarter of the 2015 calendar year.
