Metalogix bought by another private equity firm
Metalogix, a company that provides management tools for collaboration platforms and counts the Army and Air Force among its clients, will be bought by private equity group Permira.
Metalogix and its ownership group are planning a sale of the company to European private equity group Permira.
The transaction still has to pass a regulatory review, but once complete, the current owners, Insight Venture Partners and Bessemer Venture Partners, will be bought out. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Metalogix provides management tools for collaboration platforms such as Microsoft SharePoint, Exchange and Office 365. The company is a Microsoft Gold Partner and an EMC Select Partner.
Over 14,000 clients in 86 countries use Metalogix tools. Among its government customers are the Army, Air Force, the Homeland Security Department, the Marine Corps, the state of California, and the Energy Department. The company also holds a GSA schedule.
“Metalogix is an exciting investment opportunity for the Permira funds and another example of our technology strategy of backing platform software companies in secular growth markets,” said Brian Ruder, a Permira partner and co-head of its technology, media and telecom sector team.
Metalogix’s management team led by Steven Murphy will remain in place.
The deal is expected to close before the end of the year.
