ACT-IAC responds to NS2020 commentary

We at the American Council for Technology and Industry Advisory Council would like to correct a statement made in your November 10th article entitled "What's Wrong with GSA NS2020."

Specifically, the statement that Tech America and ACT-IAC have "...come together to reach out to GSA"  is erroneous and ignores the differences between the two organizations.

Tech America is a registered lobbying organization whose mission is to represent the specific interests of its industry members.  ACT-IAC is a public-private partnership whose mission is to provide a trusted, collaborative forum for government and industry to work together to advance government.

To maintain the integrity of our activities ACT-IAC does not work with lobbying organizations on policy issues such as NS2020.

While we are certain the Tech America committee led by Mssrs. Slifer and Lam are proud of their report to GSA, the ACT-IAC recommendations to GSA were produced by a working group of industry and government professionals.

The ACT-IAC and TechAmerica initiatives were separate activities and there was no coordination or relationship between them. It is also important to note that ACT-IAC does not agree with all the points Mr. Slifer makes in his article.
