NASA has made another batch of awards for its $20 billion SEWP V awards, this time in a small business category for server support devices and multi-functional devices.
Contracts went to 41 companies, bringing the total number to 97 awards going to 73 companies. Twenty companies have won in two categories, and two companies have won in three.
NASA has yet to award Group B, which is set aside for HUBZone and service-disabled, veteran-owned companies.
The other categories are Group A for computer-based systems, which had 23 awards, and Group D for networking/security/video and conference tools, which had 33 awards. These were awarded Oct. 1.
A fifth group of awards will go to 8(a) companies, but that is a non-competed category and will be set up once all the SEWP competitions are completed. It isn’t part of this competition, a NASA official told me.
The SEWP contract can be used by any government agency looking to buy IT and other computer technologies, high-end scientific and engineering process capabilities, network equipment and peripherals.
The companies that hold multiple positions on the contract include Counter Trade Products, which holds spots in Group A, C and D, and Sterling Computers Corp., which also won Group A, C and D.
