Tech contract breathes new life into A-10 aircraft

Ki Ho Military Acquisition Consulting, Inc., of Layton, Utah, received a five-year, $31.4 million contract for engineering services to maximize A-10 aircraft’s usefulness.

Dynamic battlefield environments are driving many modernization and sustainment changes to the 1970s-era A-10 legacy aircraft. The environments also create unique requirements to keep the A-10 an effective weapon throughout its lifecycle.

KIHOMAC will identify new and developing technologies that can improve A-10 aircraft missions while eliminating gaps in operations and sustainability.

KIHOMAC will conduct its work at the Hill Air Force Base in Utah. The work is expected to be completed in September, 2019. The Air Force obligated $5.3 million in fiscal 2014 operations and maintenance funds at the time of award.

The Air Force announced the award Sept. 19.
