Exelis takes on overseas base support work
Exelis wins $79.8 million Air Force contract to support base operations at facilities in Turkey and Spain.
Exelis has won a $79.8 million contract for day-to-day base operation and maintenance services for several overseas Air Force facilities.
Work will take place at the Incirlik Air Base, Izmire Air Station, Ankara Support Facility and the Office of Defense Cooperation in Turkey. The contract also covers the Moron Air Base in Spain.
Services Exelis will provide include program management, postal services and communications services, logistics support, U.S. Customs operations, payroll services and transient alert operations.
The contract runs through Jan. 8, 2016, and has a value of $79.8 million for fiscal 2015.
The Air Force ran a competitive procurement and received six bids for the work.
