DEA considers small business for info security work

The Drug Enforcement Agency is exploring the idea of hiring a small business to provide a variety of information security services.

According to a new sources sought notice and a draft statement of work, the DEA needs help with information security government and oversight of both classified and unclassified networks.
Specifically, the notice sets out requirements for information assurance, cybersecurity, information security policy and compliance and communications security.
The 30-page statement of work goes into detail on each of six task areas.
DEA is looking for what it calls a “team environment” where government and contractors will work together on gaining efficiencies, knowledge sharing and collaboration.
No dollar estimate is given for the contract that will be developed from this sources sought notice.
The deadline for responding is Oct. 17.
