Cloud provider Carpathia and Accelera Solutions Inc. have joined forces to win a $3.1 million contract for IT support of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization’s Seasparrow program.
The Seasparrow program is based on a memorandum of understanding to form a state-of-the-art naval missile defense system.
For the contract, NATO needed a new hybrid cloud environment that could support Microsoft applications, continuity of operations, overcome the limitations of a physical environment, and enable the development and deployment new and enhanced platforms and services.
Carpathia, a cloud operator and host, supported Accelera’s hybrid cloud solution by providing managed services delivered via its IBX Vault, a secure and federally compliant data center.
“We worked closely with the Accelera team to deliver a solution that could meet NATO’s extensive purpose-built security controls, continuous monitoring, and complete certification and accreditation requirements,” said Stu Fleagle, vice president of Carpathia Government Solutions.
Accelera Solutions President Joe Brown said Carpathia was key in winning the contract.
“Carpathia’s government and technology expertise played a critical role in the Accelera team winning the Seasparrow award,” he said.
