National Park Service seeks contractor for database move

The National Park Service plans for a five-year contract to enhance its database of air and water resource information across the Everglades National Park in southern Florida.

The park service needs support maintaining and developing the information system. The contract includes one year of support for the Appaserver application server, as well as building several new database report modules and modifying existing modules.

Along with that work, the park service will migrate its two Ubuntu Linx database servers from data centers in Homestead, Fla., to Washington, D.C. The work includes setting up servers, transferring data, adjusting all data transmit and transfer processes. The agency also needs to set up security encryption, since the servers will be remotely accessed due to the move. Finally, the park service wants to enhance the functionality of its detail database displays.

The park service will make a best-value award based on technical performance, cost and past performance.

A solicitation was released Aug. 1. Responses are due Aug. 18.
