En Pointe wins $72M Microsoft deal

En Pointe Technologies will provide 100,000 seats of Microsoft Office 365 under a five-year, $72 million contract with Los Angeles County.
En Pointe Technologies has won a $72 million contract to provide over 100,000 seats of Microsoft Office 365 for Government to Los Angeles County
The five-year deal covers 30 county agencies and is one of the largest state and local implementations of Microsoft this year, the company said in a statement.
The county expects to save $2.5 million a year over what it is currently spending on its Microsoft Enterprise Agreements, En Pointe said.
“The county is constantly looking at opportunities to manage cost and improve service,” said Richard Sanchez, chief information officer for Los Angeles County.
En Pointe will consolidate the current enterprise agreements into a single Office 365 subscription, including SharePoint, Lync and OneDrive, across all county departments. Users will include police officers, public health inspectors, social workers and others, Sanchez said.
The contract covers multiple devices giving users access to information anytime and anywhere. “This capability will provide flexibility, enable increased productivity and deliver a technically secure environment for our employees,” he said.
En Pointe has been managing the current enterprise agreements and this contract expands its work with the county. The company has worked on a variety of IT projects with the government of Los Angeles County over the last 18 years.
