Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace has won a $29.7 million Army contract modification for a remote weapons control system.

The Kongsberg, Norway-based company will provide depot support for the Common Remotely Operated Weapon Station (CROWS), a tool that enables soldiers to operate machine guns and other weaponry from inside a tank or armored vehicle rather than exposing themselves to enemy fire in an open turret.

Funds in the amount of $29.7 million were obligated at the time of the award, and work is scheduled to wrap up mid-August, 2017.
