Army rethinks $461M program management contract

The Army has backed away from its $461 million program management contract in the face of protests from eight losing bidders.
After the Army Material Command awarded its $461 million contract for professional and management support services to six companies in late March, it was quickly hit with protests from eight companies.
Now, the Army has backed away from the awards to take what is called a corrective action. The Army is planning to reopen the competition and solicit new proposals. New awards will be made after a new round of evaluations.
The Army is taking a second look at its Program Management Support Services 3 contract, valued at $461 million.
The contract covers program management support including project/product management, business process reengineering, information systems security, contingency planning and physical security.

- Logistics Management Institute
- Sysorex Government Services
- Suntiva LLC
- Zantech IT Services
The protesting companies are:
- Deloitte Consulting
- Baum, Romstedt Technology Research Corp.
- OBXtek Inc.
- Connected Logistics
- AASKI Technology Inc.
- SMS Data Products Group
- Systems Technologies Inc.
- Savantage Solutions
The protests before the Government Accountability Office were dismissed on Friday.
