Lockheed Martin has won a $54.5 million modification with the Navy to a joint strike fighter technical support contract.
The contract entails technical assistance, including technology transfer to establish working manufacturing bases, in support of the F-35 joint strike fighter Lot VII effort for the Navy, Air Force, and international partner governments.
Funds in the amount of $54,574,234 were obligated at the time of the award, with $42,966,294 expiring at the end of the current fiscal year.
Would is slated to wrap up January 2015.
The modification costs will be shouldered in roughly even measure by the Air Force and Navy, each handling about $21 million, with international partners footed the remaining $11.6 million bill.
