iRobot wins $59.2M explosive disposal modification

iRobot Corp. has won a $59.2 million modification to a support contract for explosive ordnance disposal robotic vehicles.

The contract entails providing depot level repair parts, spare kits, depot repair services, training, engineering enhancements and more for Man Transportable Robotic System (MTRS), a small robotic vehicle used by explosive ordnance disposal technicians to conduct remote reconnaissance, render safe, and/or dispose of explosive devices.

Work is slated to wrap up April 2015.

Funds in the amount of $720,500 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.
