General Atomics wins $141M ground control station contract

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems has won a $141 million delivery order for ground control engineering development.

The contract entails non-recurring engineering development of Block 50 ground control stations, including installation of touchscreen displays, as well as producing system test and qualification integration laboratories, creating software developer kits and developing two fixed and two mobile ground control stations.

The Block 50 configuration aims to create an ergonomic crew workstation, eliminating or reducing deficiencies in legacy ground control station design.

Work will be performed in Poway, Cali. and is expected to be completed in February 2018. Funds in the amount of $19,363,327 were obligated at the time of the award; the total contract value is $141,444,171.
