GD nabs more GPS III work with Lockheed

General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems has won a $26 million contract from Lockheed Martin to support the Air Force’s GPS systems.

The contract will entail the production and support of U.S. Air Force Global Positioning System (GPS) III Network Communications Element (NCE) for GPS III space vehicles, General Dynamics said in a news release.

The system will provide the Air Force will navigation and anti-jamming capabilities.

General Dynamics is already under contract to produce the first four GPS III space vehicles; the new contract award provides funding for the completion of a fifth and sixth vehicle.
