The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division released a draft solicitation Feb. 19 for telecommunications and communications systems development and integration work.
NAWCAD needs services and supplies for its special communications requirements to support a subset of telecommunications and related communications electronics systems (TARCES). The projects are comprised of designing and developing systems and system components. The contractor would conduct tests and evaluations, as well as engineering, prototyping, and fabrication of systems. The contract includes work on legacy systems and current and next generation TARCES.
NAWCAD’s cpecial communications requirements (SCR) provides command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (C4ISR) capabilities and solutions to a broad range of customers.
The SCR division develops specialized solutions for customers, who are often responding to shortfalls in national security requiring immediate fielding of new or improved solutions.
The contract work would deal with systems within user locations or platforms that are aboard ships, shore-based, airborne, and hand-held. Normal operating conditions for the systems may range from being in the office to hostile environments.
NAWCAD estimates awarding a five-year contract with work starting in May 2015.
The response deadline is March 20.
NAWCAD will host an industry day with a tour of the systems that will be covered. It will be at Webster Field in St. Inigoes, Md., March 5.
