Marines to boost support for insider threat program

The Marine Corps is formulating an acquisition strategy to buy cyber and security support services for enterprise audit and insider threat program at the Marine Corps Intelligence Activity.

The corps’ main intent is protecting the integrity of classified systems and data. The contract’s core objectives are IT management, network operations and defenses, information assurance, and asset management for all networks. The contract would support the CIO, insider threat program (InTP), and command security office (CSO).

The intelligence activity's InTP is designed to deter, detect, and mitigate insider threats. It includes safeguarding classified information from exploitation and unauthorized disclosure.

The director of intelligence for the Marine Corps designated the intelligence activity as the executive agent for establishing and managing the Marine Corps Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Enterprise Office and Marine Corps Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance Enterprise (MCISRE) InTP as required by Executive Order 13587 and intelligence community directives.

The Marines issued the request for information Feb. 12. The deadline for responses is Feb. 26.
