GDIT scores $138M contract for brain injury center

General Dynamics Information Technology has won a $138 million contract with the U.S. Army Medical Command to provide the Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center, or DVBIC, with clinical site support services.

DVBIC is the primary traumatic brain injury component of the Defense Centers of Excellence for Psychological Health and Traumatic Brain Injury, and it serves active duty military, their dependents and veterans with traumatic brain injury through state-of-the-art medical care, innovative clinical research initiatives and educational program, General Dynamics said in a release.

Under the contract, General Dynamics will provide traumatic brain injury specialists, health care providers and care coordinators at 15 U.S. Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs medical treatment facilities located throughout the United States.

General Dynamics anticipates hiring 185 employees to support this program, the company said.
