General Dynamics Land Systems has won a $72.7 million contract to upgrade 12 Abrams tanks for the Army.
General Dynamics Land Systems has won a $72.7 million contract to upgrade 12 Abrams tanks for the Army.
Under the contract, General Dynamics will upgrade 12 M1A1 Abrams tanks to the M1A2 Systems Enhancement Package V2 configuration.
The M1A2 SEP V2 has improved color displays, day and night thermal sights, commander remote operated weapon station, a Thermal Management System and a tank-infantry phone, the company said in a release.
Work will take place in Anniston, Ala., Tallahassee, Fla., Sterling Heights, Mich., Lima, Ohio, and Scranton, Pa., and is expected to be completed by December 31, 2015.
