L-3 Corp. wins $17.6M Navy UAV contract

L-3 Corp. has won a $17.6 million contract to provide the Navy with supplies and support services for a family of unmanned aerial vehicles.

L-3 Corp. has won a $17.6 million contract to provide the Navy with supplies and support services for a family of unmanned aerial vehicles.

Under the contract, L-3 will provide supplies and services associated with Surface Terminal Equipment for Hawklink Tactical Common Data Link, the Littoral Combat Ship configurations, and the Vortex Mini-TCDL Shipset components, the Defense Department said in a release.

These supplies and services are in support of the Vertical Take-off and Landing Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Fire Scout MQ-8B/8C.  

Work will be performed in Salt Lake City, Utah, Point Mugu, Calif., and the Patuxent River Naval Air Station, Md., and is expected to be completed in December 2014.  

No funds are being obligated at time of award.
