DynCorp wins $80M contract for aircraft maintenance in Afghanistan

DynCorp International has won an $80.3 million contract modification to provide the Army with aviation maintenance supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.

Operation Enduring Freedom is the federal government’s name for the war in Afghanistan.

Under the contract, DynCorp will restore aircraft to fully mission capable status, provide aircraft modifications and provide maintenance support to various Army units and combat aviation brigades, the Defense Department said in a release.

Work will take place in Afghanistan, and will be completed by Dec. 31, 2014.

Funding in the full amount of the contract is obligated at the time of the award.

Three bids were received for this contract.
