GD Electric Boat wins $164M contract to support nuclear subs
General Dynamics Electric Boat has won a $164 million contract to provide services such as project management, technical analysis and planning to support the Navy's nuclear submarine fleet.
General Dynamics Electric Boat has won a $164 million contract to support operational nuclear submarines at the Naval Submarine Support Facility in New London, Conn.
This contract has a base value of $8.8 million.
Under the contract, General Dynamics will provide a nuclear regional maintenance department.
The company will provide project management, technical analysis, engineering and planning, training, inspection and nuclear services to accomplish intermediate-level nuclear submarine maintenance, modernization and repairs of operating nuclear subs, including maintaining and modernizing facilities and equipment, the Defense Department said.
The contract runs through March 2014.
Funding in the amount of $8.8 million is obligated at the time of the award, and will expire at the end of fiscal 2014.
