Trex Enterprises Corp. has won a $6.8 million contract to provide the Missile Defense Agency with thermally insensitive telescope mirrors.
This contract was awarded under Phase III of the Small Business Innovation Research program. For more information, click here.
Under the contract, Trex will design, model, prototype and test chemical vapor composite silicon carbide mirrors for the SM-3 telescope, the Defense Department said.
Work will be performed in Lihue, Hawaii, and is expected to be completed October 2014.
Funding in the full amount of the contract is obligated at the time of the award.
