Rockwell Collins nabs $15M contract to support Tactical Air Control Party

Rockwell Collins Network Enabling Software Inc. has won a $14.9 million contract to provide the Air Force with development, test, fielding and support of software.

The contract supports the Tactical Air Control Party close air support system software version 1.4.5, the Defense Department said.

The Tactical Air Control Part is a small team of Marine or Air Force personnel who provide airspace deconfliction and terminal control of close air support at battle group level or below. Deconfliction is the effort to reduce the risk of mid-air collisions.

Work will be performed at Poway, Calif., and is expected to be completed by Aug. 24, 2016. 

Funding in the amount of $7.7 million is obligated at the time of the award.
