Gen. Keith Alexander to retire from NSA, Cyber Command

Gen. Keith Alexander, head of the National Security Agency and U.S. Cyber Command, plans to retire by the end of April 2014, according to FCW.

Alexander has constantly been in the news since the Edward Snowden scandal occurred, which revealed that the NSA was carrying out electronic spying and data collection, with cooperation from leading internet and telecommunications companies, FCW reported.

Alexander has been heading the NSA for eight years, and his departure will allow President Obama to select a new leader of the agency. Alexander's deputy, John “Chris” Inglis, is also expected to resign by the end of the year, FCW reported.
