SAIC nabs $24M contract for Fleet Forces Command training
SAIC has won a $24 million contract to provide integrated training support and execution to the U.S. Fleet Forces Command, including evaluating curriculum, training alternatives and methodologies.
Science Applications International Corp. has won a $24 million contract to provide integrated training support and execution to the U.S. Navy.
The contract has a base value of $14.4 million.
Under the contract, SAIC will provide integrated training support and execution to the U.S. Fleet Forces Command, associated fleet commands and activities conducting fleet training, the Defense Department said.
Tasks included in this contract will support the determination, deployment, coordination, communication and implementation of fleet training policy, which will include training alternatives and assessment of training methodologies, determine effectiveness of curriculum and enhance transformation, innovation and experimentation, the Defense Department said.
Work will take place in Virginia Beach, Va., Norfolk, Va., San Diego, Calif., Fallon, Nev., Mayport, Fla., Everett, Wash., Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, Stennis Space Center, Miss., Suffolk, Va., and Yokosuka, Japan, and is expected to be completed by July 25, 2014, with options.
Funding in the amount of $14.4 million is obligated at the time of the award, and will expire at the end of fiscal 2013.
