Honeywell wins $485M to service GPS navigation system

Honeywell International has won a $485.5 million sole-source contract to provide the U.S. Air Force with acquisition and sustainment for the Embedded Global Positioning System Inertial Navigation System, or EGI.

Under the contract, Honeywell will perform platform integration, modernization, diminishing manufacturing sources, flight test support, training, engineering support/studies, contractor depot repair, spares, and data for the standard EGI, the Defense Department said.

Work will be performed in Clearwater, Fla., and is expected to be completed by Sept. 26, 2018.

Funding in the amount of $17.9 million is obligated at the time of the award.
