FLIR Systems nabs $50M contract to sustain surveillance system
FLIR Systems has won a $50 million contract to sustain the Ground Based Operational Surveillance System, which provides situational awareness through high-resolution imagery systems.
FLIR Systems has won a $50 million contract with the Navy to repair and sustain the electro-optic sensors systems for the Ground Based Operational Surveillance System.
The Ground Based Operational Surveillance System provides improved situational awareness through the display and tracking of items, using high-resolution day and night cameras with enhanced target recognition and radar to enhance the ability to detect moving targets, according to the Marine Corps website.
Work will take place in Wilsonville, Ore., and is expected to be completed by September 2018.
Funding in the amount of $3.2 million is obligated at the time of the award, and will expire at the end of fiscal 2013.
