CSC lines up possible NetCents II award

CSC's bid protest might pay off as the Air Force tells the company that it will take a corrective action that might land CSC a spot on the $960 million NetCents II Applications contract. But other protests are still pending.
Computer Sciences Corp. might be in line for a contract award under the Air Force’s $960 million NetCents II Applications contract.
CSC filed a protest after it wasn’t included in the round of contracts awarded in late July to six other companies.
Now, CSC’s protest has been dismissed because the Air Force is planning some sort of corrective action which rendered the protest moot, so the Government Accountability Office dismissed the protest.
A GAO spokesman said the Air Force action was specific to CSC’s protest, so the other protests filed against the Air Force remain. Those protests were filed by InfoReliance Corp., Northrop Grumman, Booz Allen Hamilton, HP Enterprise Services and General Dynamics.
Details on the corrective action were not available from the Air Force, and a CSC spokeswoman said the company was told the corrective action could “result in a change to the source selection.”
In other words, CSC might join Lockheed Martin, Tybrin, Harris, SRA International, Raytheon and L-3 National Security Solutions as a winner of the contract.
Of course, the other protests are still pending. A ruling by GAO is expected by late November.
The NetCents II Applications contract is a sister procurement to the much troubled NetCents II Products contract, which was hit with another round of bid protests this week.
