American Systems names Hyuk Byun and Pete Pflugrath to lead the professional services and customs solutions groups at the company.

American Systems has promoted two executives to new posts to lead professional services and custom solutions.

Hyuk Byun was tapped as vice president and general manager of professional services. He has been charged with broadening the group’s horizons and bringing his experience running the customs solutions group to the professional services group.

Replacing him at the customs solutions group is Pete Pflugrath, who was named vice president and general manager. He is tasked with leading efforts to develop and manage identity management programs and complex systems such as the Synchronized Pre-deployment Operational Tracker (SPOT) Enterprise System.

As an employee-owned company, American Systems focuses on promoting from within, the company said in a statement.

“Hyuk and Pete exhibit the innovative thinking, customer dedication and deep expertise we look for in leaders at American Systems. In their new roles, they will lead their respective teams in developing mission-focused solutions meeting customers’ needs,” said Peter Smith, the company’s executive vice president and chief operating officer.
