InfoZen fights $212M TSA award to QinetiQ North America

InfoZen is trying to hang onto a $212 million contract it lost to QinetiQ North American with the Transportation Security Administration for a system to check transportation worker identities.
InfoZen Inc. is fighting back against a lost $212 million Transportation Security Administration contract won by QinetiQ North America.
The TSA contract in question is for the operation and maintenance of the TSA Transportation Threat Assessment and Credentialing Operations and Computing Environment, known as TTAC.
QinetiQ North America won the contract in July, but InfoZen of Fairfax, Va., was the incumbent on the contract.
Both companies declined to comment.
TTAC is a screening and credentialing system used for checking and verifying the identity of transportation workers, including airline crews, as they access secure facilities.
InfoZen filed the protest Aug. 2 with the Government Accountability Office. A decision is expected by Nov. 12. In the meantime, InfoZen will continue to work on the program under the original contract awarded in 2006.
