Honeywell nabs $97M Navy option to prepositioned Marine Corps ships
Honeywell Technology Solutions has won an option to provide logistics support services for prepositioned Marine Corps ships.
Honeywell Technology Solutions has won a $97.5 million option with the Navy to support the Blount Island Command.
The order will have Honeywell providing the command with prepositioning and Marine Corps logistics support services.
Prepositioning ships are strategically placed in locations all around the world and carry enough equipment, supplies and ammunition to support a Marine Air-Ground task force for 30 days.
Work will take place on 12 prepositioning ships, in Jacksonville, Fla., and at six locations in Norway, and is expected to be completed by Sept. 30, 2014.
No funding is being obligated at the time of the award.
