Raytheon wins border security work in Philippines

Raytheon Co. has won an $18 million contract to build a maritime border security system for the Philippines.

It is the company’s first border security-related contract in Southeast Asia and it was awarded by the Defense Threat Reduction Agency, the company said.

Raytheon will build a national coast watch center and support the integration of data from various agencies into the center. The company also will provide acquisition, installation and training for an automatic identification system and work on radio communications for the government of the Philippines.

The two-year contract runs through July 2015.
