CACI wins $14M order for VA records program

CACI International has won a $14 million task order with the Veterans Affairs Department to support its Virtual Lifetime Electronic Record program.

This task order was awarded under the $91 million Virtual Lifetime Electronic Record prime contract that CACI won back in October 2010, the company said in a release.

Under the 18-month order, CACI will build the Data Access Service, which is a component that moves data electronically through various systems and speeds up the process of veterans getting their benefits.

The Virtual Lifetime Electronic Record program is a solution that consolidates electronic health and benefits records of Armed Forces members for exchange within the Veterans Affairs Department and externally to the Defense Department and to other federal agencies, CACI said.

"The continuing expansion of CACI's business with the Department of Veterans Affairs demonstrates the success of our strategy to focus on the high-growth healthcare market area,” said CACI president and CEO, Ken Asbury.

“Our work for the VA opens up tremendous growth potential by positioning us to support greater interoperability for electronic health record systems — a priority for the federal government,” he said.
